You have written in many different genres and always keep your fans wanting more. For Layla, you are dipping your toes into a paranormal story that has lots of secrets. How do you describe Layla without giving anything away? #spoilerfreezone
Feeling distant from Layla, Leeds soon finds solace in Willow—another guest of the B&B with whom he forms a connection through their shared concerns. As his curiosity for Willow grows, his decision to help her find answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s well-being. Leeds soon realizes he has to make a choice because he can’t help both of them. But if he makes the wrong choice, it could be detrimental for all of them.
Colleen Hoover is an author that I have read and enjoyed in the past. Layla is her first book into the paranormal world, and I could not wait to get my copy and dive right into the story.
Layla is the story of two people who meet, fall in love, and then disaster hits. Leeds takes Layla back to the place where they first met and fell in love with hopes that it will strengthen their relationship and help Layla heal. I love how attentive and protective Leed is. No matter what was happening and who wants to help, Leed’s first thought was always on what was best for Layla. He wants her to get better, he wants her to be more of her old self, and he wants to be the one to help her get there.
The twist of Willow, the ghost, living in the same place that they fell in love was interesting. I kept reading the story in hopes that I could figure out Willow’s past and what Leed would need to do to help her be at peace. I never guessed at where the story would go.
The twists, the turns, the ups, and the downs were amazing. Colleen Hoovers first attempt at paranormal is a winner in my opinion. I recommend picking up your own copy, meet Layla, Leed, and Willow, and enjoy their story.
