Leaving Lily Behind (Men of Brahm Hill, Book Three) by Christine Wenrick

Paperback, 295 pages
Expected publication: March 2nd 2016 by Red Tree House Publishing

ONE NIGHT . . . ONE VIOLENT, SUPERNATURAL BATTLE . . .
AND FIVE STORIES OF MEN WHOSE LIVES
WILL BE CHANGED BY IT.

Aiden Rowan has made a choice he wishes he could have back. As a human Guardian for The Brethren, he agreed to be part of a former Elder’s super-soldier experiments involving vampire blood transfusions. His reasons for doing so were close to his heart, but the results are costing him his humanity and changing him into the very creature he wanted to defeat—a vampire. Just when he thinks he’s accepted his fate, a woman enters his life with the promise that she can help. From the moment Aiden lays eyes on Lily Abbott he feels lost in a good way—a human way. But can he trust himself now that he’s changing? Refusing to allow the darkness growing inside him to ever hurt her, he chooses to leave Lily with the intention never to return.

Lily has many secrets, and some she must keep from the man she has come to The Oracle to save. What she didn’t expect was to care deeply for Aiden, or be so affected when he refuses her help and leaves abruptly. But when she’s attacked one night by another fellow super soldier, Aiden returns as quickly as he left. Once the two are reunited, the pair have an almost combustible chemistry, leading Aiden to question what brought Lily to The Oracle and into his life in the first place.

WILL AIDEN AND LILY FIND LOVE TOGETHER, OR WILL HIS CHANGE AND HER SECRETS DRIVE THEM APART FOR GOOD?

My Thoughts…

Christine Wenrick is amazing!     With each book of hers I read I love her more and more.    The characters are unique and enchanting, even those sexy alpha males.    The storylines pull me right in and keep me turning page and after page like I am an addict to her books (which I am).

This book is the story of Aiden and Lily.   Two supernaturals who are struggling to find where they belong.   One is still changing and one has accepted what they are and is willing to try to find the good instead of the bad.     Together these two are perfect compliment for each other.     They push, pull, and love each other with their entire beings while each trying to protect the other.    It is absolutely wonderful the connection that Lily and Aiden have and how it grows as the story continues.     I love that their story is not easy.   They don’t meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after.   They have to put themselves on the line, let their feelings grow, and learn to trust each other entirely.   Yet, they manage to grow within themselves while doing all this.

Men of Brahm Hill is a series is one I have read from the very first book.    At the end of each book I am left wanting more.  Yet each book is a complete story.   It tells the story from beginning to end of the main characters so I feel like they can be read alone.    When read in order the history of the characters is better understood.
