All Aubrey
Ellis wants is a normal life, one that doesn’t include desperate pleas from the
dead. Her remarkable gift may help others rest in peace, but it also made for
an unsettling childhood and destroyed her marriage. Finally content as the real
estate writer for a local newspaper, Aubrey keeps her extraordinary ability
hidden—until she is unexpectedly assigned the story of a decades-old murder.
Rocked by the
discovery of a young woman’s skeletal remains, the New England town of Surrey
wants answers. Hard-nosed investigative reporter Levi St John is determined to
get them. Aubrey has no choice but to get involved, even at the terrifying risk
of stirring spirits connected to a dead woman’s demise and piquing her new
reporting partner’s suspicions.
As Aubrey and
Levi delve further into the mystery, secrets are revealed and passion ignites.
It seems that Aubrey’s ghost gifts are poised to deliver everything but a
normal life.
My Thoughts…
I love Laura
Spinella. Her books never disappoint
and Ghost Gifts is no exception.
There is mystery, romance, family, and so much more. I read and read and read until my tablet
needed to be charged and I had to put it down. As soon as it was charged I picked it up
and had to finish the story.
The mystery in
Ghost Gifts is wonderful. The who done
it story was captivating. I took
guesses, I changed my mind, and I was so wrong. It took until the very end for me to piece
it all together. The only thing I did
know was that the obvious choices could not be the right ones.
There were
flashbacks throughout the story. Sometimes these can make the story confusing;
Laura Spinella has a talent with these flashbacks. They flowed with the rest of the story
perfectly. There was no confusion as
to what was a flashback and what was happening in the current time. I found the storyline easy to follow. The story never lost momentum. Actually, the flashbacks added so much to
the story with the history that was learned about Missy and her life.
This is an amazing book!
I recommend getting your copy today.
