Audiobook Review for Falling into You by Jill Shalvis

Colburn Brothers #3

Falling into You by Jill Shalvis

Published:  July 14, 2026 by Sourcebooks Casablanca

Genre:  Second Chance, Small Town Romance, Contemporary Romance

Taken from Goodreads:  Some love stories don’t stay buried, no matter how far you run.

Hazel Pierce has three goals for coming back to Star Falls:
1. Help her estranged dad.
2. Keep things strictly temporary.
3. Absolutely, under no circumstances, fall for Tucker Colburn again.

That plan dies a dramatic, soggy death when a rogue wasp sting sends Hazel swerving off the road and into the river—only to be hauled out, half-drowned and furious, by the Star Falls Fire Department’s finest. Unfortunately, “finest” is ex–best friend, ex–one-night mistake, and the man she’s been avoiding for a decade.

Tucker’s always had a way of getting into her head. And now between a family that thrives on gossip and a town that’s way too small for all this chemistry, Hazel’s running out of ways to avoid the truth. As sparks turn into late-night confessions and slow, toe-curling kisses, Hazel has to decide if she’s done running—from her past, from this town, and from the only man who’s ever made her feel like home. And Tucker has to prove that this time, he’s not just her safe place to crash—he’s her always.

My Thoughts:  Second chance romance in a small town, what more can a reader ask for?   There is a lot more to this book that fills all my favorite things to be found in a book.  I love that Hazel works a “man job.”  She takes no **** from anyone.   Tucker and Hazel’s families are also in this book and make me laugh so much with the nosiness and opinions.

I was lucky enough to listen to this book instead of reading it.   The narrators are wonderful.   The voices fit perfectly with how I would expect Hazel and Tucker to sound.  I felt like I was right there with them as they fought, hid, ran, and loved each other.  Audiobooks are quickly becoming my favorite way to enjoy a book.

Jill Shalvis wrote a series of books with the Colburn Brothers as the main characters.   Each book is its own story with the HEA I love.  It was fun to see the characters in the past books make appearances and play into each other’s lives.  I recommend reading all the books in order but they do not have to be.  Each book can be read on its own.

Thank you Hambright PR for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
