I didn't listen. I made a deal with the Fae prince that plagues Dark Falls with his sinful presence.
Cole Desirys now thinks he owns me, his psycho best friend hates me, and I loathe myself for the foolish promise I made.
From what I understand, breaking the terms of our agreement could have me killed, shunned, or turned into a slave of some kind. I’m still fuzzy on the details.I feed on the power I have over him.
I don’t care if it makes me wicked too.
It's all fun and games until someone dies.
The Academy has fallen to the enemy.
Cole had to flee to Faerie. His best friend Flynn—my bully and tormentor—holds all the answers. My family secrets are like a noose, slowly tightening around my neck.

Taken
from Goodreads: From the author of The
Restoration of Celia Fairchild, comes a novel about the meaning of
family and the places we call home. If you love "southern summer"
fiction authors like Mary Alice Monroe and Kristy Woodson Harvey you'll love
this delicious novel about family, friendship, and finding your true path in
life.
Esme Cahill thinks she has failed spectacularly: fired from her New York City
publishing job, divorced from her husband, and possessing little more than a
broken-down car and a pile of unfinished manuscripts, she drives home to
Asheville at the request of her late grandmother, Adele, who had begged her,
just before she died, to return to the place she grew up.
There she discovers the once-charming lakeside retreat run by her family is
sliding toward financial ruin, so with the help of her grandfather, George;
estranged mother, Robyn; and a travelling chef Dawes (maker of the world's best
grilled cheese sandwich) they set to work. In the attic, Esme unearths a trove
of museum-worthy art quilts, sewn by Adele. Piecing together the inspiration
behind them, Esme discovers a forgotten chapter in her family history and her
grandmother's untold story, that of a gifted artist who never received her due.
This is an always-emotional, sometimes humorous, very human novel of what it
means to be family--the ties that bind us together and the unintentional hurts
that can rend us apart. And, along the way, Esme learns that failure can be the
first step toward the life you're meant to find.
My
Thoughts: Nothing has worked
as Esme had hoped, so she heads back to her family lakeside retreat. There she finds a mother that she is not
close to, a grandfather who is struggling, and the retreat that has fallen into
disrepair. She sets herself up to stay
for the summer and get everything back in running order. Of course, things do not go as planned and
surprises happen.
I
really enjoyed this book. Esme is not a poor me character, she is a character
that works hard for what she has and is not afraid to go for what she
wants. I enjoyed watching her work
through her life and figure out what was important. The choices she made were not always easy and
often caused her extra work, but they were the choices that she felt good
about, most often they were the right choices.
I liked the fact that as the story went on, her life seemed to come
together and not always as she thought it would.
Esme Cahill Hails Spectacularly is a fun book.
I read it pretty quick and enjoyed each page.

(A Spy Makers Guild Novella) Publication date: June 20th 2023 Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense
Synopsis:
Risking herself to rescue others. No problem. Risking her heart on love? Problem.
Dada As a Guild operative, I’ve seamlessly taken on dozens of false identities. Going undercover as a nun? No problem. But when my routine mission turns into a hunt for a vicious serial killer, I’m forced to join forces with Sion Bradford. Problem. The sexy, ex-soccer player doesn’t, for one minute, believe I’m a nun. Too many lives are at stake to tell him the truth. So, why am I struggling to keep the faith?
Sean Learned a lot since leaving sports to go chase down degenerates. Mostly, how to spot a liar. Not that I need that skill when it comes to Dada. The woman’s every shade of hot, knows self-defense, and is a great kisser. Plainly, she’s rubbish at being a nun. Still, joining forces with her to take a killer off the streets is a no-brainer. I’d risk Hell itself to stop this lunatic and keep her safe.
As things heat up between Sean and Dada, their search for a serial killer turns into a deadly cat and mouse game. With time running out, they come face-to-face with the truth about each other and an unexpected and vicious murderer.
