- SYNOPSIS -
Jasmine Nichols is a control freak.

When she graduates from college as valedictorian with a degree in social services, her friend and mentor Jill Swanson offers her a job, but with one condition. She has to take two weeks off and just have fun. Taking the instructions to heart, Jasmine goes to a club called Debauchery and has a sizzling encounter with a sexy stranger.

Ex-pro football player Gabriel Johnson is done playing the field.

Gabe is tired of meaningless relationships, but when he meets a mysterious, beautiful, blue-eyed blonde at Debauchery and the chemistry is undeniable, he knows he’s finally found the one. What he didn’t expect was for her to freak out and run off.

Jasmine thought she made a clean getaway, so needless to say, she’s shocked when she finds herself face to face with the hot guy from the club once again.

He’s Jill’s. Half. Brother.

Gabe wants to pick up right where they left off and doesn’t waste any time convincing her. Jasmine’s blown away by the intensity of their relationship. How can she control something that makes her feel so wild and uninhibited?

But Jasmine can’t handle the pressure.

First, she’s confronted with old insecurities. Then suddenly, her brother has a secret he’ll only share with Gabe, the father who abandoned her shows up—at Gabe’s instigation—and a professional tragedy is the last straw.

What happens when it all falls apart?

Is being with Gabe more than she can handle?

My Thoughts…

Have you ever picked up a book, being not familiar with the author you don’t know what you should expect, and read it from the first page to the very last page?    That is exactly what happen with Gabe.   I started it after dinner and was up into the early hours of the morning having to know what happen with Jasmine and Gabe.
Let me tell you about Gabe.   He is older that Jasmine, knows what he wants in life, and is not afraid to go get it.   That is exactly what he did with Jasmine.    He was intense about wanting Jasmine and did what he had to do to get her.   The best part is that he showered her with love, respect, and care to get the girl.     Yet, he was still an alpha male.   He was tough and soft at the same time.    He knew when to stand up and when to step back.

Evan Grace portrayed each character as realistic as possible.    Marie, Jasmine’s mother, stands out to me.   Even with her special needs she is so relatable.    I love how this was not hidden; Jasmine is not ashamed of what happen to her mother and understands that anyone who wants to be with her has to be able to handle the rest of her family.   That includes her mother and her gay brother.   I laughed a few times at her brother and his crazy antics, but mostly shook my head knowing that something would be happening to make him realize that the way he was living his life was not really the way he wanted to.

This is a wonderful book.   There are wonderful characters that are so relatable that the reader can picture them and wants to be friends with them.    Even the secondary characters are wonderful.    The sexy scenes and lines make the reader blush (many times).      My only advice…start reading before bedtime so it does not keep you awake until 2am as it did to me.

- EXCERPT -
I walk over to a set of French doors that open up to a balcony. I press my hand against the glass as I peer out into his huge backyard. The pool looks so inviting. It looks like what I need to cool off my overheated skin.

I feel his body heat a second before his large hand cups my hip. His lips against my ear, he whispers, “Why did you run away from me the other night?”

His voice is low and gravely and it causes goose bumps to break out all over my flesh. My n****es harden against the material of my bikini and I want to press my a** against his groin to see if he’s hard. I freeze, avoiding his beautiful eyes so they won’t hypnotize me. I decide to answer him with a lie. I whisper,“I didn’t run.”

He bites my earlobe and I yelp. He answers my question about his c**k when he presses his front snugly against my back. A part of me is dying to see his d**k, but by the feel of it, it’s large and it makes me nervous. I shake my head to try and drive those thoughts out of my mind.

“I think you’re lying to me. I think you ran because you got scared. You can’t tell me you didn’t feel it too,” he whispers against my ear.

Oh, I felt it, but there is no way I’m admitting it to this guy. The men in my life have always let me down one way or another, so I don’t trust them. I can’t. This guy has heartbreak stamped all over him. I don’t want or need the drama.

He wraps a hand around my throat. It’s not hard but enough to hold me where I am. My heart starts to beat a rapid staccato as his other hand slides up the inside of my leg. I should stop him. I should tell him I don’t want this, but damn if that’s a total lie.

He reaches my bikini bottoms and slips his fingers under the material. I know what he’s going to find. He’s going to find my wet, swollen p***y. His fingers inch slowly to my opening and as soon as he reaches it, I can’t help the moan that escapes my lips.

“You are f**king soaked.” He pushes a finger inside of me. We moan together as my a** rubs against his d**k. I’m so close to coming already. I try to turn my head to at least look at him, but he holds me immobile and that turns me on even more.

“Jasmine! Gabe!” Jill’s voice drifts down the hall and Gabe slowly pulls his finger out of me.

“We’re going to finish this later,” he says right before he licks my arousal right off of his fingers. I feel flushed as I hustle past him and into the hallway, where I run into Jill with Nico trailing behind her.
