Review for She Loves Me by Melissa Foster with a Giveaway

NEW RELEASE........
Fall in love in Harmony Pointe, where hearts are lost, found, and sometimes misplaced…and everyone get a happy ever after.

If a woman can’t find love in the quaint town of Harmony Pointe, it’s sure to find them—whether they’re looking for it or not. Here, the remaining single Dalton siblings are about to discover that they’re next in line to get swept away by love. A sweet and sexy spin-off of Melissa’s beloved Sugar Lake series.

What are two besties willing to risk for something more? The New York Times bestselling author of This Is Love has the answer in this fun, sexy, and emotional romance about friendship, family, and giving love a chance.

Something is off in Piper Dalton’s life, and she has a feeling it might just be her. All her siblings are blissfully settled with their forever loves. But while her sisters were dreaming of white weddings, Piper was left heartbroken and commitment phobic by her first love, her best friend’s younger brother. As a woman dominating the male-driven construction industry, Piper has no interest in turning in her hammer for an apron—even if hot and hilarious Harley thinks otherwise.

Burly bar owner Harley Dutch has a bum ankle and two preteen nieces to take care of, and having his best friend, tough-as-nails and sexy-as-sin Piper Dalton, come to his rescue is just the remedy he needs. Piper is her snarky self, and she kind of sucks at caregiving, but she’s owned his heart for years, she’s got a way with the girls, and Harley would sure like to have his way with her…

As things heat up between Piper and Harley, she warns him not to fall in love with her because she’ll only break his heart. Harley is the right man for that challenge—until he makes the biggest mistake of his life, and they begin to wonder if true love really can conquer all.

My Thoughts…

Oh, Harley!   You are amazing.   He has had feelings for Piper for so long and has kept them guarded while waiting for Piper to see what is right before her eyes.    Even while keeping his feelings to himself, he protects her, he helps her, and he sees her for the amazing woman she is.   He doesn’t want to make her a girlie girl, he loves how self-sufficient she is, and he loves how well she can use her hands.

Piper, open your eyes girl!   There was no doubt that she saw Harley for what he was but every other guy she’s dated has wanted her to change her as their relationship progressed and she has a fear of losing herself if she falls in love.   Too bad Harley has other plans for them and she has no hope in keeping her heart to herself.

The honesty, the love, the friendships, and the fun are exactly what I was looking for.    Harley and Piper are so perfect for each other and so in tune with each other.   They know when to push when to pull, and when to step back.      I so love this story.   Melissa Foster wrote the perfect happily ever after.

Call Her Mine (Harmony Pointe Book 1)
Ben Dalton has always been honest, except where his heart is concerned. He’s been in love with his best friend—saucy, smart-mouthed Aurelia Stark—forever. But Ben’s a planner, and timing has never been on his side. When he finally decides to make his move, Aurelia beats him to the punch with a move of her own—to a different town.

Aurelia loves her new life in the charming town of Harmony Pointe. She has a great apartment and her very own bookstore, and best of all, the sinfully hot, commitment-phobic friend she’s crushed on for years is no longer just around the corner. Maybe she’ll finally be able to leave her unrequited love behind and move on.

But when a baby is left on Ben’s front porch—a baby that is presumably his—Aurelia is there for him. Neither one knows the first thing about babies, but how hard can it be? Ben and Aurelia are catapulted into a world of love, laughter, and tracking down the baby mama, and it might even add up to a very happily ever after . . . just not one either of them expects.

Review for Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey

From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.

Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her evangelical husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a busted Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn, but when the one that got away comes back, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.

My Thoughts…

Feeling Like Falling is the story of two amazing women, Diana and Gray, going through different trials in their lives. Diana has finally left her boyfriend after years while Gray is going through a divorce from her cheating husband.   Through unique circumstances they come together and build a friendship that helps them find their happily ever afters.

Gray and Diana are so different, but their friendship shows that where they come from and what their circumstances are do not matter.   They lean on each other and create a friendship that helps them heal from their pasts, move on to their futures, and find a happiness that they both didn’t know they craved.   I love the relationship between Gray and her son and how she put her son above the dislike she felt for her husband.   She made life easy for her son all while making sure that there was a relationship between father and son.    Diana was strong and held her own, she knew what her goal was and was willing to put in the work to make it happen.

My heart is full after reading Feels Like Falling.   I felt so many emotions and had so many hopes as to how this story would go.   Kristy Woodson Harvey has written a book that I could not stop reading.  I was invested in the characters, able to picture the settings, and feel the emotions of the story.

Advance Praise:

"Two women in turmoil, two lives at a crossroads. Only Kristy Woodson Harvey can make sense of the sometimes devastating, often-times delicious dilemmas faced by the protagonists of her newest perfect beach read FEELS LIKE FALLING. Readers will fall in love with entrepreneur Gray, whose husband’s betrayal leaves her feeling adrift and looking for something beyond career success, while plucky down-and-out Diana will win the hearts of those of us who always root for the underdog. Buckle up, buttercups, because FEELS LIKE FALLING feels like your next summer sizzler!" —Mary Kay Andrews, New York Times bestselling author of Sunset BeachThe High Tide Club, and The Weekenders

"Kristy Woodson Harvey has the voice of a best friend; a storyteller of the finest sort. Feels Like Falling takes us on a page-turning journey with two very different women who must somehow find their way together. Harvey asks the important question — how do we let go of the preconceived notions of our life ? And she answers that question with lyrical prose, an uncommon wisdom and a sharp wit. This is more than a novel about friendship, it is also a story for friendship: you will find yourself sharing it with everyone you love. Dive in; the storytelling is delicious!" —Patti Callahan Henry, New York Times Bestselling author of Becoming Mrs. Lewis

“Harvey creates genuine, capable, flawed protagonists and fun secondary characters, and readers will appreciate the thoughtful depiction of women supporting one another in an easy, breezy story. Fans of Mary Kay Andrews and Mary Alice Monroe should add this to their beach read lists.” Booklist

“In pitch-perfect tones, Harvey creates two Southern women doing their best to deal with everything life throws at them, and her able plotting will keep readers turning the pages…Harvey’s optimistic tale just might convince readers that bouncing back can actually land a person in a better place than where they started.” Publishers Weekly

Promo for HumanKind by Brad Aronson

HumanKind Changing the World One Small Act At a Time by Brad Aronson
On Sale: April 14, 2020
**All author royalties will go to charities, including Big Brothers Big Sisters.**

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference in the lives of others. Whether it’s smiling at someone, calling a loved one to tell them how much you care or buying a coffee for the person behind you in line, these gestures can change a life and even have a ripple effect transforming thousands of lives.

Author Brad Aronson was inspired to highlight the stories of good deeds being done in the world when his wife, Mia, was diagnosed with cancer and he witnessed firsthand how a simple act of kindness can change a life. In his debut book, HUMANKIND: Changing the World One Small Act at a Time (LifeTree Media; April 14, 2020; Paperback; ISBN: 978-1-928055-63-1; 256 pages; $15.99), Aronson shares his story about the kindness that changed his family’s life as well as stories from people whose small acts of kindness and empathy generated widespread change, transformed thousands of lives or simply improved the life of one person. Through each story, readers will be inspired to find their own ways to give back.

The stories include a coffee run that expanded to give comfort to thousands of cancer patients; a spur of the moment McDonald’s meal for a homeless youth that sparked a lifelong friendship; a teen who set out to create a better diagnostic test for pancreatic cancer patients after the loss of a friend and succeeded; the $20 that started a massive Secret Santa movement; and the gift of a puppy that inspired an organization’s creation providing over a thousand trained therapy dogs for children.

Aronson also gives readers specific tips and advice on how to flip the script and offer support to others in concrete ways that help take the pressure off those in need. In addition, he introduces readers to a number of nonprofits, organized by opportunity so that readers can donate their time, money, letters or experience to a worthy cause.

HumanKind is a ray of sunshine during stormy and divisive times.

Today, Aronson invests in startup companies and spends most of his time supporting youth nonprofits. He has served as board president of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region and is currently board president of Hopeworks, which provides tech training, jobs, housing, coaching and support to help young people succeed in life. Using his business background, Aronson teaches entrepreneurship to inner-city students at Hopeworks, instilling self-confidence, discipline and a healthy respect for hustle. Throughout the book, Brad teaches us how to give back:
❖ Help people celebrate ➢ The book’s Hall of Fame section showcases organizations through which you can provide birthday gifts and parties for kids who otherwise wouldn’t receive them.
❖ Support college dreams ➢ Sign up to be an online mentor for students who will be the first ones in their family to attend college and provide care packages for foster youth who are in college and don’t have families to support them.
❖ Listen ➢ Learn to listen better with advice like: Wait three to five seconds to see if someone is done speaking before you respond. Waiting those few seconds is hard, but it will completely change how you listen and eliminate unintentional interruptions. It’s a gift you can give anyone and it only costs seconds.
❖ Use word power ➢ See how a simple conversation—just a few words—can change a life.
❖ Write a letter ➢ Learn about opportunities to write letters to hospitalized kids, lonely seniors, veterans, people suffering from illnesses and others who need support. You can provide this gift in less than fifteen minutes.
❖ Start Small ➢ By helping a single person, we can ultimately bring about large-scale change. See how one small action can make it all happen.
❖ Be Inspired ➢ You’ll find dozens of ways to help loved ones and strangers going through difficult times, from what to say when offering support to how to change your perspective and look out for areas of need in your community.

In the stories in HumanKind, you’ll learn about:
❖ The community that rallied behind a child in need of a therapy dog.
❖ A man who vowed to repay an act of kindness by anonymously giving money to those in need, creating a movement of tens of thousands of people around the world.
❖ Philadelphia Mayor W. Wilson Goode Sr., who created Philadelphia’s first homelessness program because of a single meal he had when he was twelve.
❖ A McDonald’s lunch shared by a New York City advertising executive and a hungry teen that led to a lifelong friendship.
❖ Cantor Fitzgerald, a company that was devastated by the tragedy of 9/11 and set an example by re-building the business to help others and inspire change, honoring the legacy of lost loved ones.
❖ A retiree who turned her sewing hobby into a club of grandma seamstresses who trekked from the suburbs into the city to mend clothes for the homeless.
❖ An Olympic gold medalist and Major League Baseball player who credits his success to a third-grade teacher’s shoe-tying lesson and now inspires thousands of young kids as a way to pay that teacher back.
❖ A monthly $15 donation from a stranger four thousand miles away that allowed a child to finish school and inspired that boy to create a nonprofit that has helped hundreds of families and their future children escape poverty.

Title: Attraction

Author: Ruby Porter

Genre: Women’s Fiction

About Attraction:

The present reckons with the past in Attraction, Ruby Porter’s atmospheric debut novel. Three women are on a road trip, navigating the motorways of the North Island, their relationships with one another and New Zealand’s colonial history. Our narrator doesn’t know where she stands with Ilana, her not-quite girlfriend. She has a complex history with her best friend, Ashi. She’s haunted by the memory of her emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend. And her period’s now weeks late. Attraction is a meditative novel of connection, inheritance and the stories we tell ourselves. In lyrical fragments, Porter explores what it means to be and to belong, to create and to destroy. ‘[Porter’s] writing has the intensity of Sally Rooney, the rawness of Andrew McGahan’s Praise and 1988 but is also distinctly original…[A]n utterly amazing debut.’ Jon Page
