Bobby Baker is a man with new lease on life.
He is engaged to his high school sweetheart, and he is bonding with the
fourteen year old son he wasn’t aware of a little less than a year ago.
But there’s more. The love of his life is pregnant with their second child.
This time, he’ll be there to witness the birth of one of his children instead
of missing out on it.
Or will he?
Belle unexpectedly goes into labor a month early while Bobby is coming off a
mission half a world away. Will he be able to make it home in time for the
birth of his second child?
Or will he miss this delivery, too?
My Thoughts…
I love the Ex Ops series.
The characters have become friends to me and I care about their
happiness. When Jessie Lane offered me
a copy of Mission Delivery I was so excited.
I had missed these characters and were excited to get a glimpse into
their lives and see what was happening.
This was a short story, but it gave me an update.
I love Bobby and Belle.
They have gone through so much.
They deserve a happy life. This
glimpse into what was happening was just enough to confirm that they are still
happy. The labor scene made me
laugh. Bobby was understanding and
took it all like the man he is, while Belle let him know exactly what she was
thinking. Then the baby was here and
Bobby was the sweetest daddy ever. I
knew he would be, but loved seeing it.
I cannot wait for more about Teagan.
There has to be a good story in her future.
I recommend checking out this entire series, starting with
Secret Maneuvers, followed by Stripping Her Defense, then Mission Delivery, and
coming soon Sweet Recovery.
Nora Finch has a sweet life. She’s married to one of San
Francisco’s wealthiest venture capitalists, she lives in a gorgeous old
Victorian mansion in one of the city’s most sought-after neighborhoods, and she
just launched an ice cream business with her two best friends, Cricket and
Lindsay.
However…exactly one week after Sweet Dreams opens its doors to the public,
Nora’s husband, Kenneth, informs her he wants a divorce.
Talk about bad timing. Now, on top of the tremendous pressure she feels to
drive sales, Nora has to deal with the breakdown of her marriage, adjust to a
more frugal lifestyle, find a new place to live and prepare to dip her toes in
the dating pool for the first time in four years. If that weren’t enough,
everyone keeps trying to get her to “process” her feelings. For an overachiever
like Nora, juggling the demands of a new business along with a total overhaul
of her personal life should be doable…right?
My Thoughts…
While this is a story of a woman following her dreams , I
enjoyed the friendships in this book even more. The three women, who have been friends
forever, follow their dreams together and open an ice cream shop, Sweet
Dreams. These women work hard together
to make the shop successful, play hard together, and love each other to the
ends of the earth. Their friendship
is the type that people on the outside look at and think that they wish they
had friends like this. These ladies
protect each other, call each other out on issues, and love each other.
Sundaes with Nora is a continuation of Sugar Spun Sister,
the first book in the Sweet Dreams series.
Cricket’s story is book one, Nora’s is book two, and Lindsay’s will
follow in book three. It is fun to see
these three best friends suceed in their dreams and lives. I enjoyed that this is a clean story. Ther e is love, fun, and attractions, but it
does not have to lead to falling into bed.
These are women with morals and belief in themselves. They do not need a man to help them succeed.
I have always read Anna Garner’s books when they come
available. They are fun, easy , and
usually one sitting reads. I recommend
checking out all her books, especially the Sweet Dreams series.
NEW HARBORSIDE NIGHTSis a sexy, hot, and evocatively real New Adult Romance series that follows a group of friends who have known one another for years as “summer” friends, and now come together after college to build their lives. They’re tough, edgy, and accepting—most of the time. This series is written in the loving, raw, and emotional voice readers have come to love by New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.
Wyatt Armstrong never imagined that instead of celebrating his college graduation, he and his twin sister would be dealing with the death of their parents. Then again, Wyatt had never been one to think past tomorrow. He heads to their summer home in Harborside, Massachusetts, with his best friend Cassidy Lowell in tow, to deal with his parents’ death and to try to figure out his next step.
Six foot two, infuriatingly handsome, and flirtatious, Wyatt Armstrong has always been there for Cassidy, helping her pass her classes and fend off unwanted advances, while driving her insane with his one-night stands—but that’s what best friends are for, isn’t it? Having each other’s backs. There was never any doubt that she would accompany him to his family’s summer home—but she never expected to begin seeing Wyatt as more than a friend. Or has she been ignoring her feelings all along?
It’s impossible to ignore the sizzling heat between them as Wyatt and Cassidy get even closer, but Cassidy knows Wyatt’s past, and she has a real job to begin in the fall. Wyatt may be a sure thing for the summer, but Cassidy needs more. For the first time in his life, Wyatt is forced to look toward the future if he doesn’t want to lose the one woman who’s shared his past and owns his heart.
**CONTENT WARNING: Due to mature content, recommended for readers aged 18+**
My Thoughts...
Oh how I love these characters. They are more young adult than some of the other characters Melissa Foster usually writes about but they are just as wonderful. I felt like these could be my daughter's friends and I wanted them to be happy, safe, and successful.
I loved the Wyatt and Cassidy had been friends for so long, yet they never took their relationship to the next level. They both got jealous when the other was in a relationship but were afraid to lose each other. This goes to show that sometimes best friends make the best boyfriend/girlfriend. While they were both afraid to take that first step, I knew it was going to happen. How can sparks that bright and hot be ignored? But I do love that they talked about what would happen, they discussed if it was worth risking their friendship, and they didn't rush anything.
The other characters in this book were also wonderful. The friendships and relationships were real, fun, and something I look forward to learning more about. Every character is someone I would want to know and someone I want to know more about. This series is going to be amazing. I cannot wait for more.

Just because Kendel Price is a woman doesn’t mean she can’t
sow her wild oats before starting her career and settling in the suburbs. With
that in mind, she takes a job as a personal assistant to Burn Shatterly. Burn
is the woman-hating lead guitarist for the mega-famous rock band FlameSmith. As
Kendel works past his defenses, she discovers a kind, sexy man underneath his
hard exterior. She’s more aware than ever that he doesn’t belong in the future
she has planned. Can she leave before she completely falls for him? Or is it too
late? Are they both destined for a Christmas heartbreak?
My Thoughts…
Kendel thinks she knows exactly
what she wants when she grows up. Burn
lives the fast life and has had too many women take advantage of him. Then they meet. Sparks fly from the first time they meet and
it just gets more and more intense.
While they both fight their feelings and try to put the sparks out, it
is never easy. The drama, the arguing,
and of course the loving is so intense.
They are exactly what true love should be
.
Rock My Christmas is a cute and
fun story. I was hoping for an easy
read with a real story. That is
exactly what I got from Laura Kitchell.
She managed to put a lot of history, future, and love in to a short(er)
story. I loved that I had a background
as to why these characters reacted to each other the way they did, why they
lived the way they do, and why they were fighting their feelings for each
other.
There are hot males, sexy females, fun
travelling, and lots of emotions shared within these pages. There is a real story with realistic
characters. I recommend checking out
Rock My Christmas.
Redemption of Lunar Falls (Lunar Falls 3) Media Kit Author Lashell Collins Genre: Paranormal/Romantic Suspense/Urban Fantasy Publication Date: May 1, 2015
Carly Tipton's life has been turned upside down since she moved to Lunar Falls. She came looking to start a new life for herself, but nothing prepared her for the adventure that awaited her in the mysterious little town. A place where werewolves not only walk among the humans, hidden in plain sight, but where the roots of her own family tree are deeply entwined with the noble creatures. And when she and her mate, Gabe, are declared the answer to an ancient Moon Hunter prophecy, Carly finds herself wondering if the secrets and lies of Lunar Falls will ever end.
Gabe Masters is an Alpha on a mission – to re-educate his people in the ancient ways of the imprinting and abolish the purity movement, all while getting the five packs to accept his new human mate as one of their own. Easy, right? Until shifting alliances and a small faction of wolves join forces with the cat shifters in a last-ditch effort to overthrow Gabe's authority before his and Carly's wedding. A vicious battle ensues as Gabe leads his men (and women) against the rebellion. But can he defeat them in time to keep Carly safe?
Redemption of Lunar Falls is book three of an adult sexy shifter romance trilogy.
This is the third and final (insert sad sigh) book in the Lunar Falls series. I started the first not having read anything by Lashell Collins and have quickly devoured every book since then.
Redemption of Lunar Falls is the perfect ending to the series. I wanted the Moon Chasers to find their happy ending and be able to stay in Lunar Falls safely, but more importantly I wanted the series to be tied up in a neat bow. I get frustrated when I finish a series of books and feel like there should be more. Lashell Collins did a great job of putting all the characters in their correct places, tying all their stories together, and explaining what was happening.
While this series is done, there could be more. More about the secondary characters, not Carly and Gabe’s story. The secondary characters in this series were just as important to me as Carly and Gabe. I wanted them to be okay and find their happy endings also. I would love more about them. Learn how the other pregnant Moon Chasers fair.
I highly recommend you read this series in order. The storyline continues from book to book. This is a series that is not just about paranormal, it is romance, love, alpha males (YUM), and so much more.
They both fell back onto the mattress and stared up at the ceiling, panting as their hearts raced together keeping perfect time.
“Have I ever told you that I love that sexy little swivel thing you do with your hips when we’re in that position?” he asked, still looking up at the ceiling.
Carly giggled. “Um … no. No, you haven’t,” she panted.
“Well, I really love that sexy little thing you do with your hips in that position. It drives me insane,” he said. Then he turned and looked at her with a wicked grin.
“Oh, yeah?” she asked as he reached out and ran a finger down her cheek.
“Yeah,” he answered. He rolled over toward her and kissed her lips, slow and rhythmic as his tongue stroked hers, leaving her breathless all over again when he finally pulled away.
“Gabe?” she whispered.
“Hmm?”
“Are you hungry?” she asked.
The innocent question sounded so seductive as it dropped from her soft sweet lips, but Gabe felt her physical hunger run through him just before the growl from her stomach reached his ears. He couldn’t have stopped the laughter if he had wanted to.
Carly smiled as he laughed at her, burying his face in the crook of her neck, and she ran her hand through his hair.
“Don’t laugh at me,” she pretended to pout. “It’s not my fault our child has the appetite of a grown Moon Hunter male.”
“You are adorable, do you know that?” he asked.
“Are you making fun of me?” she responded.
“No. I’m cherishing you,” he said, looking into her eyes.
“That’s what you said earlier, when you bathed me before the ceremony,” she said.
“Yes, I did. That’s my word for the night because it is my vow to you,” he said as he caressed her face. “Carly, I am going to spend the rest of our lives cherishing you. You are everything to me, baby. Please don’t ever forget that. I am so proud that you are my mate.”
“Gabe,” she whispered again, running her fingertips over the scruff of his short manicured beard. Then he kissed her again. “Mine,” she heard him say in her head. “Yes. Yours,” she replied.
Their make out session ended when her stomach growled again, and Gabe pulled away, still laughing.
“Come on. Let’s go find my pup something to eat,” he said.
They climbed out of the bed and Carly found her sweater from before the bath still sitting on top of the hamper where Gabe had left it, and she slipped it on over her head. It hit her at the mid-thigh area, covering all the essentials, and she ran a hand through her sex hair. Gabe pulled on an old pair of sweatpants he found in one of the drawers, and then he took Carly by the hand and led her out of the bedroom and through the family room to the door.
The house was completely quiet when they stepped out into the wide hallway, and Gabe led her to the left toward the front staircase. Carly couldn’t help feeling as though they were doing something naughty as they creeped down the stairs, like children sneaking out to play way past their bedtime. In the kitchen, Gabe turned on the light and headed straight for the fridge.
“What have you got a taste for?” he asked, smiling sarcastically at her as he opened up the refrigerator.
“Hmm? Oddly enough … meat comes to mind,” Carly said, playing along. “Got a big juicy steak in here somewhere with my name on it?”
“Steak? No,” he said as he rooted around on the top shelf. “But …”
He pulled out a large plate covered with foil and gave it a sniff, recognizing immediately that it was elk and that it was fresh. His Moon Hunter protective instincts kicked in, giving him a sense of accomplishment that he could feed his pregnant mate something beneficial to their unborn pup, and he smiled as he tore off the foil and held it out to her.
Carly sniffed at it, realizing for the second time that day that the aroma of a food suddenly took precedence over the visual of it for her - a truth she knew was due to her new Moon Hunter sense of smell, and she had to admit that from her veterinary point of view, the changes going on inside her body fascinated her.

Watching children play and invent whimsical games of fantasy
is one of life's great joys. But what if you could actually see your child's
imagination as it unfolded? And what would you do if your child's imagination
suddenly became dark and threatening?
Burned-out and broke, twenty-two-year-old single mother Anna Jennings moves to
her grandparents' rural home for the summer with her four-year-old son, David.
The sudden appearance of shadowy dinosaurs forces Anna to admit that either
she's lost her mind or she can actually see her son's active imagination.
Frightened for David's safety, Anna struggles to learn the rules of this
bizarre phenomenon and how best to protect him. But what she uncovers along the
way is completely unexpected: revelations about what her son's imaginary
friends truly represent and dark secrets about her own childhood imaginary
friend.
Living next door is Jamie Presswood, Anna's childhood friend who's grown much
more handsome and hardened than the boy she once knew. But past regrets and
their messy lives are making the rekindling of their complex friendship prove
easier said than done. Between imaginary creatures stalking her son and a
tumultuous relationship with David's biological father, Anna may find it
impossible to have room in her life or her heart for another man. But as
David's visions become more threatening, Anna must learn to differentiate
between which dangers are real and which are imagined, and whom she can truly
trust.
My Thoughts…
My children never had imaginary friends. I never thought about why they would have or
didn’t have these friends. Yet, I
started Imaginary Things and was instantly intrigued. I loved the idea of a little boy,
David, with an imaginary friend or two
and that these friends were dinosaurs.
When the story continued and Anna, the boy’s mother, could see these
imaginary friend I was hooked.
Andrea Lochen as an amazing imagination and a way with
words. She is able to described the
characters and their feelings so well that the reader takes them on as friends
and people they care about. I could
relate to Anna’s fear for her son and his reaction to the way his life has become. Her confusion as to why David felt the need
to have these dinosaurs around to keep him safe from the scary cat, a
panther.
When Anna and Jamie, the next door neighbor, became friends
and their history was revealed I was thrilled.
I knew where I wanted it go and was happy when it started to head that
direction with twists and turns. Their
story is not easy, it is not a straight line, and it is worth the trip to get
there. Jamie has a history, Anna has a
history and together it is complicated.
As the story
continued I was trying to figure out how it was all going to be tied up in a
pretty package. I should have seen where
the story was going. The clues were
there, the story was heading in the right direction, yet I did not. I love that I did not. I love that it kept me reading. I had to know that David would be safe, that
the mother would find happiness, and that there would be a happy ending.
This is the second book by Andrea Lochen that I have read
and I recommend them both. Imaginary
Friends is a fun read, that gets serious at points. There are some tough subjects discussed and
hinted at but it never loses that easy read feel.
“Andrea Lochen writes another beautiful book,
filled with vivid scenes, unforgettable characters, and oodles of heart. With a
page-turning plot and an utterly unique concept, IMAGINARY THINGS entertains,
inspires, and provokes thought--a perfect book club pick.” –Lori Nelson

“Cleverly written with a perfect touch of magic, Imaginary Things will
take you on a journey of the unexpected, and leave you contemplating the power
of your own mind.” ~Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke, authors of Your

"An honest, charming novel that blends reality and
magical possibilities, hard struggles and small victories, starting over and
daring to dare." --Cathy Lamb, author of Julia's Chocolates
"IMAGINARY THINGS reminded me again and again
that the act of raising a child is a love story, a test of strength, and a
thrill ride." – Susanna Daniel, author of Stiltsville
Meg Rosenthal: Matchmaker by day, realist by night, Meg is
not about to get swept away by a charming, darkly handsome businessman in a
designer suit. She’s come to a beautiful secluded resort to evaluate the
private island’s potential for her agency, not to ogle its owner. But there’s
something about the magnetic man that’s hard to resist, even for a woman who
refuses to fall in love.
Valentino Masini: A successful and drop-dead sexy
businessman, Valentino is used to having the finer things in life. Yet he’s
never wanted someone the way he wants Meg, who’s stirring up a hurricane of
trouble in his heart. But just as he decides to convince her to stay, someone
else decides it might be time to get Meg off the island…permanently.
My Thoughts…
This was an easy read for me. I started in on a Friday night and had it
finished before Sunday morning came.
Every book in this series is amazing.
I have read each one and am so excited when I get a notice that another
is on the way. Catherine Bybee is an
author that I know I can always rely on to entertain me from the first page
until the very last word.
Seduced by Sunday is my favorite so far. It was packed with a ton of action yet kept
the love and romance alive and strong.
Meg was due to find her happiness.
She saw her best friend find her forever happy ever after in Taken by
Tuesday (#5) yet didn’t really think she was due to find hers. The idea of traveling to a secluded, no
paparazzi, island was intriguing. I
mean isn’t there media and cameras everywhere?
Yet, Meg and Michael pose as a couple and travel to this remote island
to test their security.
Enter Valentine, SIGH! From the very first email between Meg
and Val you could feel the sparks. I was
just hoping that the sparks would ignite into a fire when they finally met face
to face. There was no disappointment. The flames grew with each meeting and each
conversation. The romance and love grew
and their story just got better and better.

Nothing is as permanent as it appears . . .
Denver, 1962: Kitty Miller has come to terms with her unconventional single
life. She loves the bookshop she runs with her best friend, Frieda, and enjoys
complete control over her day-to-day existence. She can come and go as she
pleases, answering to no one. There was a man once, a doctor named Kevin, but
it didn’t quite work out the way Kitty had hoped.
Then the dreams begin.
Denver, 1963: Katharyn Andersson is married to Lars, the love of her life. They
have beautiful children, an elegant home, and good friends. It's everything
Kitty Miller once believed she wanted—but it only exists when she sleeps.
Convinced that these dreams are simply due to her overactive imagination, Kitty
enjoys her nighttime forays into this alternate world. But with each visit, the
more irresistibly real Katharyn’s life becomes. Can she choose which life she
wants? If so, what is the cost of staying Kitty, or becoming Katharyn?
As the lines between her worlds begin to blur, Kitty must figure out what is
real and what is imagined. And how do we know where that boundary lies in our
own lives?
My Thoughts…
Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real that when you
woke up you had to take a few minutes to decide where you were? That is Kitty’s life. She is having dreams and living real
life. These two worlds are colliding
and she is having a hard time deciding what is real.
I have thought what if… what if I hadn’t met my wonderful
husband and had my amazing children?
What if I hadn’t started working for my parents? What if… what if… what if… that is the world
of Kitty. By seeing Kitty’s what if’s I
felt that I really got to know and understand her. I knew her life, her wishes, her dreams, and
where her life was heading. Or so I
thought. I loved watching her cope with
both worlds and try to figure out what was happening. When the light finally went on for Kitty, I
sighed. She is in the right place,
with the right people, and with the right tools to make her life happy.
Cynthia Swanson has written a book showing how people can
cope with stress in their life. I don’t
want to give away what that stress is, but I didn’t see it coming. It shows how people use mechanisms to cope
with events in the world.
I thought I was picking up a light and fun read. It was, but it was more than that. I could not put the book down. I was excited to learn more about Kitty and
her lives. This is definitely a book I
would recommend.

About the book:
Publishing: An industry of out-of-control of egos, unrealistic
expectations, and books with the shelf life of milk. This is Kate’s world, but
for how long?
When one of Kate Mitchell’s star authors is carted away in handcuffs, she
thinks it’s only the beginning of her troubles. As her world crumbles around
her, Kate desperately looks for anyone to hold on to but finds that happy
endings are truly works of fiction. When her career and love affair hit their
expiration dates, Kate sets off on a new adventure....
Starting over in California is easy, but Kate soon learns that leaving her old
life behind isn’t. Nicholas Lavigne is eager to help her forget, but two things
still own her heart: the dream of discovering the next great American novel and
MacDermott Ellis. As Kate tries to rebuild her life, she finds a surprising
gift that reboots her career in a new and unexpected direction. Suddenly her
name becomes synonymous with one of the biggest best sellers publishing has
seen in ages, and she's welcomed back with open arms. At the height of her
success, the ghosts of her past come back to remind her of the world she'd been
trying to forget and the man who never let go of her heart. Behind the book
there’s always more to the story.
My Thoughts…
This is the second book in the Publicist series. I have read and listened to them both.
Lisa Cordileone is a great narrator. With her changes in voice tones, volumes
changes, and over all reading style I was pulled right into the story. The characters emotions come through in her
voice. I have found the cadence of her
reading keeps me in steady tempo while working out.
Now, about the book.
If you have read book 1 hold on to your seats, there is more greatness
being shared in book 2. This is the
second book in The Publicist series with at least one more book to come.
Shelf Life really needs to be read after you have read the first book, so much
of the story hinges on things that happen before. I found both
books to be fast reads that pulled me in from the very beginning and leaving me
wanting and needing so much more.
Kate is the main character. I love her.
She is strong, independent, and has a huge heart. When she falls in
love she falls fully. The problem? She has fallen in love
with a married man and the man that loves her is a man she loves but is not in
love with. She struggles with this. I did not always agree
with her decisions, but she owned them and made them either work for her or she
changed her mind, making the right decision after the fact.
There is really two stories in this book. The
romance of Kate, Nick, and Mac and the inside world of publishing. As a
book reviewer, I have a small part in the publishing/promoting world. I
learned so much more from both The Publicist and Shelf Life.
I enjoyed both parts of this book. Although the romance kept me
entertained, the publishing world part kept me thinking and paying close
attention.
I highly recommend this entire series and am anxiously
awaiting the next part to this story.
About the Author:
Christina George has worked in publishing for twenty years
(give or take). Here’s what this book isn't. It’s not a slam against publishing
(though it is broken) and it’s not a slam against authors (though some of them
are crazy). This book is not autobiographical though many of the stories are
true. No you won’t know which ones, cause it’s more fun to guess, right? George
continues to work in publicity and helps authors because at the end of the day
she does love books, she loves publishing, and she loves authors. She hopes
you’ll enjoy this romp through Kate’s world as much as she enjoyed creating it.
