For the month of December, I am going to post about some of my favorite books, favorite authors, and books I just can't forget about.    These are all books I'd recommend purchasing for Christmas gifts or for your own enjoyment.

Kathryn R. Biel is an author that I have worked with for a long time.  I have read 11 of her books and have loved them all.   They are fun, quirky, and books I always recommend to my friends.

Seize the Day was released on November 7,2019 and while I have not read it quite yet I cannot wait to get my hands on it and enjoy every word Kathryn wrote.

Current Mood: Freaking Out.

Erin McAvoy is living her best life. A lover of tacos, witty T-shirts, and Pinterest, Erin is always ready to tell you about her favorite thing—the animals she tends to at one of the nation's best zoos. But then there's that other thing she doesn't like to talk about: how a supposedly-for-fun DNA test revealed that Erin has a strong genetic predisposition to breast and ovarian cancer. She'd like to conveniently ignore that elephant in the room, except for the fact that unless she does something soon, Erin will miss out on her only chance to have a baby.

Up to this point, the only guy she's needed in her life was a sloth—the animal kind, not the lazy kind—named Barry. Turns out, if you want to have a baby, a sloth is not the right man for the job. Growing up in a conservative family, Erin's never even considered any other options, until now. She doesn't have a lot of time to wait, and online dating isn't for the faint heart.

When co-worker Xander Barnes—foe—or friend?—or maybe even more?—comes up with a plausible solution to give her the baby she wants, Erin realizes this may be her last chance to grab the tiger by the tail. Her family may not agree with her choices, but Erin knows that if one leopard can change his spots, then she can too. And maybe, just maybe, this will be everything she's ever wanted.

Plus tacos.

My Thoughts…

From the start the idea of two sets of twins born hours apart, in the same hospital, and then they grow up together sounded intriguing.     The families could not have been more opposite each other.    Rio and Rianne had a father who left them and a mother who was more interested in her newest man than her own children.   Ian and Evan have two loving parents but Evan was born with a birth defect while Ian was born as a natural athlete and all around good child.  The girls were lucky that Ian and Evan’s mother was around to help raise them.   Too bad the good didn’t rub off on both girls.

I read this book in one sitting.    I could not stop and was invested in the characters and the storyline.     I was wishing that Rio would open up to Ian sooner and the secret between them would come out before it would explode in her face but hey… Kathryn Biel knows what makes a good story.    I am a fan of Kathryn’s read everything of hers that I can get my hands on.    She never disappoints and I always walk away satisfied with what I have read.

My Thoughts…
What did I love about this book?    The better question is what did I not love!    Kathryn R. Biel made characters that are so realistic.   Maryn was perfect.   She fell for a prince, a real live prince, yet pushed to stay true to herself.   Yet, she didn’t really know who she was.     The monarchy had rules that had to be followed and she pushed, shoved, and kicked her way out of those rules.   I love a strong woman character that is able to stand up for herself yet still be a woman.
The storyline was fun.   I started the book and finished the book in one day.   I found minutes to sneak a few more pages, another chapter, and sometimes just a few words because I just wanted to keep reading.     I wanted to find out if Maryn would be able to find her happy ever after, would it be with Stephan?
This is a true fairytale story.     The working girl from the wrong side of the track meets her prince and together they find their HEA.

My Thoughts…
Once in a Lifetime is an interesting look at how being famous can change your outlook on life.    The 5 Sassy Cats were all young when they were touring and living the famous life.   Now they are grown up with families, lives, and careers that do not include singing or performing.   I thought it was very interesting to see how different their lives have become and how when they come together they have to work hard to get what they want.
I loved that each chapter had the points of views of all 5 ladies.   Each Sassy Cat had her own perception of what was happening due to the circumstances of her life.  Yet, together they were going to make it work.  I could feel that each lady wants to be successful, that each lady was searching for what their future would hold, and that each lady wanted to find that fun, easy, friendship that was once there.
Kathryn Biel is talented in her writing.   Her characters are realistic and easy to relate to, the storyline always pulls me in, and I am always thrilled when she releases a new book.    I would recommend picking up your own copy of Once in a Lifetime and enjoying a fun story about 5 ladies who use to be best friends coming back together to find their futures.

For the month of December, I am going to post about some of my favorite books, favorite authors, and books I just can't forget about.    These are all books I'd recommend purchasing for Christmas gifts or for your own enjoyment.

RaeAnne Thayne is an author that I love to read year round.   I am going to feature two of her Christmas themed books but all of her books are amazing.    They are sweet, sexy, fun, and easy to read.

Coming Home for Christmas and Season of Wonder capture the magic of Christmas with their stories of hope, healing, and love.   They are set against the mountains of Haven Point.   I'd recommend a crackling fire and a cup of hot cocoa while snuggling up with these perfect books.

Hearts are lighter and wishes burn a little brighter at Christmas…

Elizabeth Hamilton has been lost. Trapped in a tangle of postpartum depression and grief after the death of her beloved parents, she couldn’t quite see the way back to her husband and their two beautiful kids…until a car accident stole away her memories and changed her life. And when she finally remembered the sound of little Cassie’s laugh, the baby powder smell of Bridger and the feel of her husband’s hand in hers, Elizabeth worried that they’d moved on without her. That she’d missed too much. That perhaps she wasn’t the right mother for her kids or wife for Luke, no matter how much she loved them.

But now, seven years later, Luke finds her in a nearby town and brings Elizabeth back home to the family she loves, just in time for Christmas. And being reunited with Luke and her children is better than anything Elizabeth could have imagined. As they all trim the tree and bake cookies, making new holiday memories, Elizabeth and Luke are drawn ever closer. Can the hurt of the past seven years be healed over the course of one Christmas season and bring the Hamiltons the gift of a new beginning?

My Thoughts…

This is the first Christmas book of 2019 for me.   While I am not ready for Christmas, I loved this story.   Luke is a single dad raising two wonderful children.   Elizabeth is a mother that left her family for reasons that she could not tell them at the time.   Now they are all back in the same town, gossips are talking, rumors are running wild, but most importantly feelings are coming back to life after being pushed down for so long.

I loved how Luke was raising his kids.   They were no doubt that they were loved, but they were not spoiled.   The shoveled their neighbors’ sidewalks, were taught to respect other people even if they didn’t really like them, and most of all they knew right from wrong.  The fact that their mother abandoned them without giving them a reason meant that they had issues to deal with it but Luke was honest with them and respected their feelings.

I did struggle with Luke forgiving Elizabeth and letting her back into their lives so quickly.   There was a reason she left, I respect that she did what she did to keep her family safe, but she was gone for 7 years.   That’s a long time to just forgive and jump back into a relationship with her and let her come back into her children’s lives.

RaeAnne Thayne has a talent for writing books that have real characters, wonderful settings, and a storyline that pulls the reader right in.   I always recommend her book and am now ready to start reading more Christmas books.

He’s giving her children a season of wonder…

Dani Capelli seized a chance to start over in a small town with her daughters. Now, facing her first Christmas in Haven Point, she wonders if leaving New York was a mistake. Dani loves working alongside veterinarian Dr. Morales, but her two children aren’t adjusting to small-town life. And then there’s Dr. Morales’s son, Ruben—Dani’s next-door neighbor. Gorgeous, muscled and dependable, the deputy sheriff is everything she secretly craves and can’t bear to risk loving…and losing.

Ruben never pictured himself falling for a big-city woman like Dani. But beneath her prickly facade, she’s caring and softhearted and she needs all the love and protection he can give. When Dani’s teenage daughter starts acting out, Ruben draws on family traditions to show the girls just how magical a Haven Point Christmas can be. But can he convince Dani that she’s found a home for the holidays—and forever—in his arms?

My Thoughts…

I found myself reading, turning pages, and finishing chapters while putting off all the rest of the chores that I was supposed to be doing.      Maybe it helped that it was a rainy gloomy day but I could not stop reading about Dani and Ruben.

Dani’s children were amazing.   The attitude of the teenager, the wanting to please of the youngest were so real to how my children were that I could picture myself as a single mom trying to handle the kids, a job, and now a man that I can’t stop thinking about.

Ruben…sigh… he was amazing.   He won my heart when he didn’t push the girls to talk to him; he talked to them as adults and didn’t expect more from them than what a child can give.     He knew that Dani and the girls were a family and if he wanted to be in any of their lives he had to be in all of their lives.      He treated Dani with respect but also as a woman, he showed her he was attracted to her, gave her space when she needed it, and accepted what she was able to give.
RaeAnne Thayne is an author that I always enjoy and Season of Wonder is no exception.    I recommend picking up this easy, light, and fun book.    It does not have to be read with the rest of the series as it is definitely a stand-alone book.

For the month of December, I am going to post about some of my favorite books, favorite authors, and books I just can't forget about.    These are all books I'd recommend purchasing for Christmas gifts or for your own enjoyment.

Samantha Chase is an author that I look for when I want to read a book that is steamy and sexy while keeping the characters sweet and lovable.    Many of her books are part of series and I love that I get to keep up with what the characters have been up to while meeting new characters also.

Samantha's big news is that The Christmas Cottage is a Hallmark movie that will be shown on the Hallmark Chanel on Saturday, December 9th.

If you haven't read the book you can get your copy at  AmazonBarnes & NobleiBooks or Booktopia.

Other books by Samantha Chase that I love are below.

About AND THEN ONE DAY

Courtney Baker is ready to put small town life—and the man she can’t have—behind her. Years of secretly crushing on her best friend’s older brother have led nowhere and she’s finally ready to move on. It would have been a great plan had she not drunkenly blurted out all her feelings and kissed him. At least she’ll be able to forget all about it when she leaves town in less than 48 hours.
It takes a lot to surprise Dean Jones, but a kiss from the girl he’s been secretly attracted to for years does just that. All it takes it one kiss for him to realize he doesn’t want to let her go. But she’s his sister’s best friend and that’s a line he knows he should never cross. Never mind that she seems determined to leave their small town—and him—behind.
When a storm and a broken car stop Courtney from leaving town, Dean sees perfect opportunity to get her out of his system. But can one night ever be enough?

About CHRISTMAS INN LOVE

Running the family B&B has always been Cassidy Ryan's dream. But first, she has to save it from neglect.
Closing the doors to the Silver Bell Inn for the holiday seasons seems like the perfect plan to give the B&B some much needed love and care. Or at least it would be if the inn didn't need a lot more work than Cassidy can handle on her own. She needs help. But asking it is the last thing she wants to do.
Getting stuck in Silver Bell Falls was not part of Beckham Allen's plans. Neither was this cross-country road trip, for that matter. He was supposed to be focusing on himself and on healing after the loss of his father. But nothing, not even his rescue dog Mazie, seems to be able to break him out of his funk.
Or so he thought until he met the sweet innkeeper who takes him in.

After an awkward start, Cassidy and Beckham discover the perks of being snowed in together. And with Christmas drawing closer, they find they may have just been given the greatest gift of all.

“I do.” Two little words I’ve always wanted to say...
You know before I turned into a perpetually single, TV-dinner-eating party of one with thirty cats and a worn-out BOB. Wink. Wink.
I’ve swiped left, right, up, down. I’m over it! Now I’m taking matters into my own manicured hands and changing the dating game with my guaranteed to set a date love app.
The only thing standing in my way? Owen Decker. And his huge...ego.
With his perfect hair, perfect teeth, and less than perfect proposal. Not the down-on-one-knee kind. Oh no. A business proposal to merge my dating app with the Hotline Hookup brand.
What harm could it do? Owen is the last person I would walk down the aisle to. After all, he’s my brother’s best-friend and business partner.
Been there. Done that. Literally.
I guess you can say we’re frenemies with benefits.
But I’m looking for the one. And this app is going to help me find him. Just not in the way I’d planned.
It’s easy to fall for the enemy when you’re ring ready!

Growing up, if someone would have told her she would become a writer, she wouldn’t have believed them. It wasn’t until she got her hands on her first romance novel, that the passion grew. Now she couldn’t imagine her life any other way - she’s living her dream.
