While at a casino to celebrate her birthday, Jessie Clarke proposes a pact to her reserved sister, Liz, and their childhood friend Chloe: the three women will say yes to any adventure that comes their way. Jessie is mourning her recent divorce, so the other two reluctantly agree. Twelve hours later, everyone awakens to the shocking consequences of their behavior. One viral video throws Liz’s high-profile television career and reputation into question. A major loss at the craps table rocks the foundation of Chloe’s staid marriage. And Jessie’s desperate bid to unblock her artistic creativity results in her facing the most difficult choice of her life. Staring down the crossroads, each woman finds her relationships tested–with herself, with each other, and with loves both old and new. At every turn, they struggle not to let fear decide their fates. Will they give in, or will their misadventures lead to the greatest fulfillment of all?

My Thoughts:  Three women celebrate a birthday by making a pact to say yes to adventure.   They say yes and their lives are forever changed.   I loved how these women came together to celebrate after years of friendship and sisterhood.   They each stepped out and their lives were changed.   I was worried that their friendships would suffer, their lives would crash but instead I saw how they cheered each other on, listened closely to each other’s worries, and supported each other even when they did not agree with the other’s choices.

The Happy Accident tells the story of three women in alternating points of view.   The story moves quickly but with a lot of depth.  The characters were well developed, and I found myself caring what choices they were making and how they would find their happiness.   Liz takes a chance and opens herself to love and a new career.   Jessie finds a new career and acceptance that she did not know that she desperately needed.  Chloe stands on her own two feet, finding happiness and independence that she desperately needed.

This is a heart to heart, true friends, finding yourself book.  I really need this book in my life.  I was lost in a story that took me away from the craziness of my own life and let me meet three new friends.
