The story: There’s something in the water in Bayern County…
Lieutenant Anna Koray thought she’d finally found solid
ground and escaped her past as the daughter of a notorious serial killer. But
when she rescues a boy from drowning—his body marked by strange symbols—she's
pulled into an investigation unlike any she's ever seen. More bodies soon
surface, all linked to the Kings of Warsaw Creek, the town’s wealthiest and
most powerful men—and all bearing the same eerie signs.
Locals whisper of witches, serpents, and
long-forgotten murders. Some say Vivian Carson, the enigmatic bartender with a
talent for hexes, is to blame. Others suspect a secret coven. But Anna’s search
for truth reveals something far more sinister: a supernatural force bent on
vengeance. As the body count climbs and the legends grow louder, Anna must
decide what she’s willing to believe—and what she’s willing to sacrifice—to
stop the curse before it consumes her too.
My Thoughts:
WOW! I could not put this book
down. I stayed up late and woke up early
just so I could read more of this story.
I was invested in Lieutenant Koray putting a stop to the Kings of Warsaw
Creek. I dislike people who think they
are above the law just because the perceive themselves as more worthy or
important than others.
There were many ah-ha moments, moments that I thought I had
it figured it. Spoiler… I never had it
entirely figured out. The clues led me
down a path and I followed it, then it would go a slightly different direction
and I would follow it. I love a book
that keeps me having to put it together, keeping me guessing. The Sister’s Curse is entirely that book
and I loved it all.
Thank you Berkley for a copy of the book via NetGalley in
