My Thoughts:  Oh this book…and series.  I love that each book has the characters I love but it is a complete book.   You do not have to read the other books in the series but if you do, you get to catch up with your favorite characters in a familiar setting.  

In this book Kyra is working on a case while Tarek is recovering from the last case.  Tarek is struggling to get through the trauma from the last case and that causes him to not be able to assist Kyra as much as she needs.   I love that the characters are real.   They go through life, experience problems, and deal with them much like the real person does. 

Raemi A Ray, the author, does an amazing job of writing the story to be real but full of twists and turns.  I was kept guessing at what would happen next and who would be involved. The storyline flows perfectly, keeping the reader invested without too much busyness.    Every word of this book makes a difference to the story.

She takes inspiration from her travels to the island and around the world as well as from local and national headlines. Most of her books are based somewhat on real life.
