Release Blitz for Mr. Swoony by Piper Rayne

Mr. Swoony by Piper Rayne is now live!

Hockey players were never my type.

At least, that’s what I thought—until I met Conor Nilsen. In truth, I didn’t know he was the goalie for the Chicago Falcons when he struck up a conversation the night of my bachelorette party.

He proved he wasn’t just some hot guy looking to score when he helped me get my drunk bridesmaid safely back to our hotel. That’s when he discovered my 30-before-30 bucket list—a list I hadn’t managed to check a single item off.

What was meant to be a night of stargazing turned into so much more. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and after one innocent night together, I started to question everything—especially my upcoming wedding to a man I wasn’t sure loved me.

Fast forward to my wedding day, and just as I’m standing at the altar, Conor bursts through the church doors to object. And now, somehow, I’m his roommate. Yikes.

TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza, hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or New Girl. She's mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. She married her high school sweetheart, and they currently live in the PNW.

Book Review for We Are Made of Stars by Rochelle B. Weinstein

We Are Made of Stars by Rochelle B. Weinstein

Published:  February 25, 2025 by Lake Union Publishing

Genre:  Adult Ficton

Taken from Goodreads:  Secrets, lies, and second chances are served up beneath the stars at a picturesque mountain getaway in this powerful novel about love and family by the bestselling author of This Is Not How It Ends.

At the Vis Ta Vie inn, Reneé and Jean-Paul De La Rue face the daunting decision to close their beloved home for good.

They’re not the only ones going through a season of change, though. Their guests include three couples in Hollywood celebs Leo and Penny are spending their silver anniversary together while on the cusp of divorce. Lucy, a practical-minded therapist, and Henry, an astronomer with his head in the stars, are struggling to find common ground. And former lawyer and current stay-at-home mom Sienna and charismatic sports agent Adam look perfect but are hiding rifts of their own. Thrown into the mix are self-absorbed single mother Cassidy and her sullen fifteen-year-old daughter, Rosalie.

The stage is set for a week of betrayals, regrets, and shocking truths that can rend the heart or heal it. Vis Ta Vie—live your life—captures what it means to love through the darkness, and to find the light even after the magic fades.

My Thoughts:  We Are Made of Stars is a great fiction book.   It is a book for everyone.  The characters were all very developed, the storyline has something for everyone but mostly it is rich in relationships, friendships, and drama.   Each set of couples have their own issues. Each couple comes to the inn for their own reason but the friendships that they make are lifelong.

I love the remote country inn setting.   The hikes that they took gave my mind a great visual of what the characters were seeing.   The menu at the beginning of each day made my mouth water.  I could taste the food as it was cooked with love and thoroughly enjoyed.    I could picture the inn and the surrounding woods and mountains.

The book starts slower, which just leads up to the climax of the story.   The point in the book where I could not stop reading and the beginning comes together.   The characters have those ah-ha moments with each other and relationships are mended.   I love it when a book comes together and that is exactly what happens in this book.   Everything comes together, although now exactly the way I thought it would.

Rochelle B. Weistein is a must-read author.   This book is a must-read book.

Thank you Lake Union Publishing for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Meet Michelle B Weinstein (taken from her website):  USA TODAY and Amazon bestselling author of What You Do To Me, When We Let Go, This Is Not How It Ends, Somebody's Daughter, Where We Fall, The Mourning After, and What We Leave Behind.

A little about me. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, the youngest of four siblings. After college, I moved to Los Angeles where I launched my career at the LA Weekly, running advertising and promotions for film studios and record labels.

A few colorful years later, I returned to Miami, landing my first dream job through an ad in The Miami Herald. Yes, an actual newspaper. For the next ten years, I managed the advertising, marketing, and promotions for every record label in the country at The Box Music Network. Our South Beach offices were the hub for musicians and record executives worldwide. Work consisted of meeting talented superstars and listening to great music. Fun, right?

Marriage and kids soon followed in the form of dream job number two, and The Box eventually moved to New York. Sometime in between raising twins, PTA meetings, carpool, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse tournaments, writing freelance, cheering on the Dolphins and Heat, and volunteering at organizations near and dear to my heart, dream job number three took root, and I became a full-time author.

When I'm not writing, I'm always with a book (or two or three) in hand, and have shared that passion on-air as the monthly book contributor for Miami's NBC-6. Today you can catch my favorite reads at Women Writers, Women's Books and AQUA South Florida Magazine.

Life has a funny way of happening this way. Doors open and close. Avenues await. One path leads to another. I thought life was fun before, but nothing is more fun than this.

Release Blitz for The Merger by Adriana Locke

The Merger by Adriana Locke is now live!

Crushes are harmless—unless they involve your best friend’s grumpy, off-limits brother.

Gannon Brewer is the epitome of my type. He’s at least ten years older than me, emotionally unavailable, and highly disagreeable—basically a walking red flag in a tailored suit. But do I listen to that? No. In fact, when his office plants start dying, I convince myself that I can ignore the pheromones and save the philodendron.

Now I’m in his office every week, dodging sinful smirks and heated stares, reminding myself to reach for the watering can—not him. But one “ivy incident” changes everything. Suddenly, we’re sneaking around, indulging in a steamy, forbidden fling that’s supposed to be nothing more than (a lot of) fun.

After all, he swears he’ll never fall in love. I assure him that I only want one thing, and it’s not his heart. But the closer we get, the more lines we blur, and the harder it becomes to keep our promises …

Especially when the secret I’m keeping threatens to shatter everything.

Children's Book Review for The Question by Meredith J. Murray, Jo Blake (illustrator)

The Question by Meredith J. Murray, Jo Blake (illustrator)

February 11, 2025 by Blue Balloon Books

Winner, Literary Titan Gold Award

Taken from Amazon:  Adults will sometimes get it wrong in the questions that they ask. What do you want to be, my child, when your childhood has passed?

In this beautifully illustrated children’s book, a young narrator is faced with the age-old question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Instead of giving a traditional answer, however, this narrator poses a different question: “How will I be when I grow up?”

Through rhyming stanzas and vibrant pictures, The Question encourages children—and the adults in their lives—to think beyond societal expectations and focus on developing qualities that truly matter, like kindness, gratitude, and a positive mindset. This inspiring story will help young readers discover their unique paths and understand the importance of being a good and curious person, no matter what they choose to be when they grow up. The Question is a valuable resource for anyone who hopes to ignite a passion for reading and self-discovery in young minds.

My Thoughts:  My first thought was that this is a book that most adults, including myself, need to read.  Let’s encourage children to be themselves and find the life that makes them happy.

This book is full of calm pictures.  They have great colors but are not so busy that they would be too much for a young child.  The illustrations tell the story but the words do need to be read for the story to be told.  The illustrations go perfect with the story and I LOVE the little girl, those big green eyes and curly hair are wonderful.

Teach the children to be themselves not fall into a mold or settle for being what is expected.   This book is the perfect story to share that lesson.

Thank you Blue Balloon Books for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Meet the Author (taken from Blue Ballon Books website):  Meredith Murray awoke one morning from a dream, grabbed a pen, and wrote The Question; most of the words simply fell out of her head and onto a page. However, the idea encompassed within The Question had been percolating in her brain—and heart—for many years. Alongside her husband, Meredith is parenting two children and thinks deeply, and often, about what it means to raise human beings. She has spent much of her life pursuing traditional and linear success; Meredith forged a path from academic superstardom to a career in the fast-paced world of technology. It took her many years, and well into adulthood, to understand what’s actually important in our time on Earth—gratitude for our everyday blessings, cultivation of community, and, ultimately, love. May we all remember to look up to find magic all around.

Audiobook Review for One Pucking Wish by Ellie Wade

Audiobook Review for One Pucking Wish by Ellie Wade

Published:   July 30, 2024

Genre:  Sports Romance, Hockey

Taken from Goodreads:  From USA Today best-selling author Ellie Wade comes a sizzling enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one-bed hockey romance.

Gunner Dreven, the star goalie of the NHL team The Cranes, is known as a beast both on and off the ice. He usually sports a scowl and isn’t one for conversation, though he’s no stranger to the occasional bar fight.

Penelope Stellars is as closed off as they come, with very little social life outside of work. She thrives on staying busy as the PR and social media manager for the Crane Hockey team.

The two are perfect enemies. Gunner can’t stand Penny and the way she always bosses him around. Penny hates how hard Gunner makes her job with his inability to control his temper.

The pair finds themselves stranded after they’re caught in a snowstorm and are forced to wait it out while sharing the last motel room available. Agreeing that a temporary truce is in order, they put their differences aside while they’re stuck together.

Only when they return to the real world, they find it hard to remember why they hated each other in the first place. Annoyance is replaced with a longing that’s hard to ignore. They discover that they are more alike than they realize.

Their undeniable chemistry doesn’t change the reasons they were single in the first place. Is it possible for two broken people to heal enough to make it, or is their relationship doomed for the inevitable heartbreak?

***This is book 3 in the Crane Hockey Series and can be read as a standalone.

My Thoughts:  I love listening to audiobooks.  I love hockey romances. I love great narrators. One Pucking Wish fits all the things I love.  Ellie Wade wrote a hockey romance book full of steamy scenes and sexy and sweet characters.  She then found the perfect narrators to bring the story and characters to life.  I enjoyed hearing every word of this story as I worked, drove, went for a walk, or cleaned the house.

The plot centers around Penny and Gunner, who are stranded together, leading to developing chemistry between them. Though the book contains few surprises, it follows Penny and Gunner as they navigate their feelings and ultimately allow their hearts to heal.

Thank you to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review for Come Fly with Me by Camille Di Maio

Come Fly with Me  by Camille Di Maio

Published: February 18, 2025 by Lake Union Publishing

Genre:  Historical Fiction

Taken from Goodreads:  It’s 1962, the dawn of the jet-set era. Hope takes flight for two Pan Am stewardesses navigating an adventurous new life in a novel about love, friendship, and escape by the bestselling author of The Memory of Us and Until We Meet.

Welcome to a glamorous gateway to the jet age.

Judy Goodman and Beverly Caldwell have different reasons for putting continents and oceans between themselves and their disparate pasts, but they have the same desire—to earn a coveted position on an elite team of stewardesses for Pan American Airlines. For Judy, running away from an oppressive marriage in small-town Pennsylvania is a risk she must take. And for Beverly, leaving behind the gilded cage of New York society will allow her to pursue a future of her own making.

Embracing the culture, etiquette, and strict rules of a thrilling and unpredictable new world above the clouds, Judy and Beverly are bound for faraway destinations and opportunities that other women dare only to dream about. But as they build a deep friendship, encounter love and danger, and discover what’s truly important, Judy and Beverly must also confront the secrets that could change their lives all over again—and forever.

My Thoughts:  Becoming a Pan Am stewardess is a dream come true for Judy and Beverly.  For their own reasons they want to start a new adventure.  I love this adventure.  The training they had, the friendships that developed, and the lives that they lived brought the characters to life.

The friendships are what I enjoyed most in this book.   Beverly and Judy had a true friendship.  They shared their secrets, dreams, and hopes.  Whether they were stationed together, flying together, or living together or not, their friendships were the most important thing in their lives.   Without each other, they may not have succeeded as they did.

The ending…heartbreaking.   I gasped and had tears.  I know it was part of history, part of the Pan Am History but it was still heartbreaking.

Thank you Lake Union Publishing for a copy of the book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Meet Camille DiMaio (taken from her website):  Camille left an award-winning real estate career in San Antonio to become a full-time writer. Along with her husband of twenty-seven years, she enjoys raising their four children. She has a bucket list that is never-ending, and uses her adventures to inspire her writing. She’s lived in Texas, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and California, and spends enough time in Hawai’i and Maine to feel like a local. She’s traveled to four continents (so far), and met Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II. She just about fainted when she had a chance to meet her musical idol, Paul McCartney, too.

Camille studied political science in college, but found working on actual campaigns much more fun. She overdoses on goodies at farmers markets (justifying them by her support for local bakeries) and belts out Broadway tunes whenever the moment strikes. There’s almost nothing she wouldn’t try, so long as it doesn’t involve heights, roller skates, or anything illegal.

She is an Amazon Bestselling author as well as a Romance Writers of America Honor Roll Inductee. Her books have won: The Beverly Hills Book Award, the Golden Quill, and been a Holt Medallion finalist several times over. They have been translated into French, Hungarian, German, Estonian, and Persian.
