One Hour Girl by Leteisha Newton RELEASE BLITZ

Title: One Hour Girl
Series: Lost Souls #1
Author: LeTeisha Newton
Genre: Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: February 29, 2016

Blurb

He thinks I’m his forever girl, I saw it in his eyes. I wished I could have slapped the look off his face and hit him with the same jarring finality I’d learned I didn’t mean shit.

I’m not a forever sort of girl.

I’m not even his for the night.

He’ll be lucky if I’m his for the next hour if he doesn’t pay me for it.

And then Royce Mattherson stormed my defenses. Took all the poison inside of me and pushed it out through my pores. He tasted the taint on my skin and still decided to love me.

He terrifies me. Exhilarates me. Frustrates me.

And he always gets what he wants.

Always

“You are my date for the night.” He said date like a curse and I arched my brow at him, irritated that I noticed his good looks when he seemed to be disgusted by the very thing I represented. This man probably never had to pay for sex in his life.

Well I wasn’t some newbie who’d let his actions hurt me. I wouldn’t.

“That’s what you paid for.” I shifted my chest so my breasts swayed a bit. His eyes left my face and his gaze followed the sway of my breasts for a moment before he looked back at me. So, not completely adverse to my charms.

“Your job is to stay silent, entice, and smile pretty. These men here are donating money toward my organization based on ‘paying for one of you for the night’” he said, fingers curling in quotation marks.

“I understand,” I said. This was business, and that I could do. Men with money did a lot of odd things with their money. I had more powerful men and women in my client list than I would have ever believed when I first started. This was no different, and the premise of the evening didn’t bother me.

It was the fact that the organizer seemed discomforted by his event. And his discomfort was extended to me.

And why it bothered me, I didn’t know. But it shouldn’t have. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts, and stood taller. I let my arms fall to my sides before I stepped up to his side. He stiffened a moment before relaxing as I grasped his arm in my hands. The cool material of his suit rubbed against my nipple and I sucked in a breath, and took in his scent with it. I could taste it on the back of my throat.

He smelled of sandalwood and Jasmine, but in a light, lingering signature that I recognized. I’ve smelled Clive Christian on a lot of men, but I hadn’t smelled it like this. Ever. I leaned in, inhaling more of his scent. My date shifted against me, and molded his body to my front. I let go of his arm with one hand and gripped his lapel. He held his body, hard and hot, against me. My breasts tingled, crushed to his chest, and I couldn’t stop myself from taking another whiff. My nose touched his neck before I realized it. I caught his swift intake of breath, the bite of his finger in my upper arms as he gripped me, and pulled me a little closer.

“You do your job well,” he whispered in my ear. His voice was low, seductive, and authoritative.

“But I don’t pay for kicks.” I stopped breathing.

He couldn’t have done a better job if he’d tossed cold water over my head and laughed in my face. I plastered a smile on my face, feeling the burn of embarrassment on my cheeks. I leaned back from him and looked directly in his eyes. He wasn’t going to scare me. He wasn’t going to hurt me like so many others had.

“Sugar, you spend over two thousand dollars on cologne made to attract women, and then buy escorts to earn money for your organization. You pay for tricks already, you just would have been much happier had you paid for mine. Shall we?” I gestured toward the open door, and the party he’d paid me for. He hid his momentary surprise well, the expression melting into a cool mask so fast I would have missed it had I not been looking at him.

Take that. I may be a lot of things, but your object of ridicule I am not. He didn’t acknowledge my statement, but he turned towards the door and walked with me out of it. I kept my grip on his arm, holding my head high.

“Royce Mattherson,” he said then, and I frowned over at him. “My name,” he added. A smile played on his lips, the left side a bit higher than the right. That smile, that show of imperfection made my heart skip a beat. I forced myself to ignore it as I thought of my reply.

“Nice to meet you, Royce Mattherson. I’m your one hour girl.” I bowed my head to read the watch on his wrist. “Of which, you have forty-five minutes left.”

He chuckled, a soft rumbling sound that had my toes curling. “I hurt your feelings, I see. Grow up, little girl. This world will crush you if you let it. You won’t make it very far if you don’t understand that.”

“You don’t know anything about me,” I hissed at him through clenched teeth, maintaining my false smile as he walked me up the hallway to the main part of the party in a ballroom.

“You’ve got a chip on your shoulder a mile wide,” he responded.

“Now who has the hurt feelings? I think you’re more bothered than you want to let on that I didn’t offer my services,” I argued.

“You’re here; I’ve already got your services. I just don’t want what’s between your legs,” he added. I felt his eyes on me.

But I knew what he said was a lie. I could read it in him. I’d bothered him. Stepped on his peace offering, but I hadn’t known how to read him. And, yes, I’d been sort of hurt, sort of bothered that he hadn’t reacted to me the way I’d hoped.

And where did that leave me admitting that?

“Yes you do,” I said, stopping.

He stopped with me. I turned towards him and ran my hand down over his groin area. His cock jumped under my hand. The desire was there, despite his words.

“I know this better than anything, and you do want me.” I trailed my fingertips over his shape. The cloth separated us, but his heat pushed through the cloth as I measured his girth. My pulse quickened. Yes, this is what I knew, what I understood. He gripped my wrist and pulled my hand away.

“You speak your mind, and I can respect that. But let me be perfectly clear, I have never, and will never pay for sex.”

“Is that your problem? And if we’d met in a bar? In a club late at night with the music thumping around us?” I asked.

“Then I’d have fucked you against the nearest surface until you couldn’t stand. And then I’d have walked away,” he answered. He stepped back from me and straightened his clothing before looking over at me with a question in his eyes.

I had no return for that. My body was hot with the idea, and the anonymity of the encounter would have been just what I liked, but something in me hesitated. Would I have liked to be a passerby in this man’s world? I didn’t know, and the lack of answer irritated me. I needed to get away from him, and the questions he brought, fast.

“I’m sure it would have been a fun time,” I answered, no longer interested in the banter. I gripped his arm once more and he walked into the party, his small crooked smile on his face again.

I hated that smile. It meant he won. That he’d bested me. I didn’t want him to win. I didn’t want to fall behind. And it irritated me that I care so much. And yet, as I listened to him talk about his organization, helping with domestic violence and using rescue dogs to help rebuild trust in those who’d learned only pain from their loved ones, there was no doubt he was an intelligent man. He was composed. He was a man that I could have liked. A man that I could have respected if my other side, the pristine side, the perfect side had met him first. Would she have sat and smiled, talked to him? Would she have blushed prettily at his compliments and challenged him with thought provoking conversation? Would he have liked her?

Because right now I was playing the whore, and, for the first time, I felt dirty and wished Ms. Perfect was in attendance.

I hated Royce Mattherson.

Author Bio

Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha has spanned from Fantasy to Interracial Romance on her road to getting the jumping characters out of her head. Most days she’s pretty color blind, unless it’s a great shade of red (then she can’t ignore it). Other times she’s plotting her next twenty books and then remembering that the computer can’t read her thoughts and doesn’t type at lightning speed. Either way, she just can’t seem to get enough of quill to paper…or eh…keyboard strokes, apparently.

Guest Post by Author Amy Richie

I am so excited to have a guest post by Author Amy Richie.   Amy wrote the Speak No Evil Trilogy (see my review HERE) and The Girl from Ortec Series (review coming soon)
that I have read.   She has written others that I am anxious to check out.    Check out her thoughts on being an author and what she knows now that she wished she knew when she started.

You can learn more about Amy Richie by checking our her website HERE.

5 Things  about being an Author that I know now and wish I knew then:

1.      A manuscript doesn't have to be 90,000 words to be considered a book. When I first started writing, I looked up all the information I could on publishing. This included the word count of a novel and most sites seemed to agree that 90K was the goal. As a result of that limitation I put on myself, I spent a lot of time stretching scenes and rewording paragraphs to hit the mark. Now that I've been writing for a while (seasoned pro here at three years published!) I have come to realize there is no real number you have to hit and 90K is in fact pretty high as far as novels go. A lot of publishers will tell you that anything over 50,000 words is a novel. Write the words that make your story, don't make it all wordy just because you think you have to. You will find the right market for your story, short or long.

2.      Writing is the easy part. No joke. You can get caught up in your story and be transported to your happy place in seconds and the words flow and you think “this is an awesome job”. And then you finish the book. You will put more hours into trying to market your book than it actually took to write it, and even that won't be enough. Just keep plugging away – Rome wasn't built in a day. That was supposed to mean something, but really marketing is just a lot of hard work.

3.      Bad reviews come with the territory. Not everyone will love your book, not even everyone will like it. Reviews are tricky, you need reviews to be noticed and to be “legit” so you have to put yourself and your hard work and your tears and your hours of time out there to be judged by others. Some of them will love your book – hopefully most of them will love it and leave a good review. Then you have the other ones. Once you get to a certain amount of reviews you come to appreciate the ones that say simply “I hated this book”. The awful ones come from the people who take it as a real honor to knock the author down as far as they can. These people focus more on you as a person rather than the book. “The author clearly never finished school because this was terrible.” “The author can't spell, can't write, and shouldn't be allowed to write EVER again”. I had one reviewer who actually wrote out her bad review in the five paragraph format we learned in English class. First she listed everything wrong with the book and then detailed it further in the next paragraphs. Those are the ones that have you reaching for cheesecake and vowing to get a “real” job. You just have to suck it up and read the good ones instead. You can't please everyone, so don't even try.

4.      Social media accounts are a must. This is one of those things I had to learn as I went. You get all kinds of advice about social media from every corner of your contact list. “Be professional”, “don't be stand offish”, “do giveaways”, “don't beg for fans”, “manage all your accounts yourself”, “you have to have a PA”. There's twitter and facebook, and instagram, and that's about all I know so far. This is one I'm still learning about. In this technological age, you can use social media to reach your fans, get more fans, interact with fans. It's a good tool but you can fall into many traps. Don't ever argue with a fan or even someone posing as a fan on any site with your name associated with it. Your name is your brand, keep it safe!

5.      The indie community is amazing. It is ever growing and changing as publishing changes. Almost every author I have ever contacted in the Indie community has went above and beyond to help out. They are so accepting and so encouraging. When I first started out on this journey, I knew almost nothing about the publishing world and I floundered helplessly until one small group of Indies pulled me under their wings and showed me how to fly. I absolutely love this crazy roller coaster dream job!

Flight of Dreams by Ariel Lawhon

ebook, 336 pages
Expected publication: February 23rd 2016 by Doubleday

With everyone onboard harboring dark secrets and at least one person determined to make sure the airship doesn't make the return trip, Flight of Dreams gives an utterly suspenseful, heart-wrenching explanation for one of the most enduring mysteries of the twentieth century.

On the evening of May 3, 1937, Emilie Imhof boards theHindenburg. As the only female crewmember, Emilie has access to the entire airship, from the lavish dining rooms and passenger suites to the gritty engine cars and control room. She hears everything, but with rumors circulating about bomb threats, Emilie's focus is on maintaining a professional air . . . and keeping her own plans under wraps.
What Emilie can't see is that everyone—from the dynamic vaudeville acrobat to the high-standing German officer—seems to be hiding something.
Giving free rein to countless theories of sabotage, charade, and mishap, Flight of Dreams takes us on the thrilling three-day transatlantic flight through the alternating perspectives of Emilie; Max, the ship's navigator who is sweet on her; Gertrud, a bold female journalist who's been blacklisted in her native Germany; Werner, a thirteen-year-old cabin boy with a bad habit of sneaking up on people; and a brash American who's never without a drink in his hand. Everyone knows more than they initially let on, and as the novel moves inexorably toward its tragic climax, the question of which of the passengers will survive the trip infuses every scene with a deliciously unbearable tension.

My Thoughts…

I feel like I live under a rock.   I had no idea of the Hindenburg and I am ashamed to say that the WWII era is one of my favorite.    Thanks to Ariel Lawhon I now know and am excited to want to learn more.

Ariel Lawhon does an amazing job introducing the characters.  I love how the chapters are broke into smaller chapters told by the different characters.   There was never any doubt who was telling the story and what their part in the flight was.    I found this made it very easy to follow and enjoy the entire story.   It was interesting how the various characters perceived events differently and what their rolls in those events are.    While this is a fiction book, it was interesting to me that the characters names are the real names of those who flew on the Hindenburg.

Flight of Dreams is the perfect mix of fiction with a lot of history and true mixed in.     I learned so much about the era, the people, and the flight yet the book was a story.     The story tugged at my heart and opened my eyes.    I definitely will recommend this book.

Seaside Dreams by Melissa Foster & GIVEAWAY

SEASIDE SUMMERS BOOK #6
Voted Beck Valley Books Reviewers Favorite Mini Series from the Love in Bloom Series in 2014
Featuring a group of fun, sexy, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're funny, flawed, and will have you begging to enter their circle of friends. You met them in READ, WRITE, LOVE, (The Remingtons, Book 5), follow these friends on their search for forever love in the Seaside Summers series.

SEASIDE EMBRACE
After working hard all day, creating his beautiful metal sculptures, sinfully sexy Hunter Lacroux likes to unwind with a hot, sexy babe--or two. But after spending a handful of naughty nights with seductive and beautiful Jana Garner, the woman who challenges everything he does and says, Hunter wants more.

As a dancer, boxer, actress, and waitress, Jana is tough, organized, and as dedicated as she is committed. She has to be to maintain her crazy schedule. But when it comes to men, Jana's had a string of bad relationships, and there's only thing she'll commit to--not committing.

White-hot passion ignites every time Jana and Hunter are together, but the closer Hunter gets, the faster Jana runs. When Hunter lays on the charm, Jana throws out a challenge she's sure he can't meet, and Hunter steps up to the plate, forcing her to face her hurtful past or let go of him forever.

SEASIDE EMBRACE is part of the SEASIDE SUMMERS series, and the newest addition to the "Love in Bloom" family. Each book may be read as a stand-alone novel, or as part of the series.

My Thoughts…

Oh My Gosh!!!    Let me introduce you to Hunter Lacroux.    Woo Wee… talk about steamy, sex, hot!   He is all that and more.      While he is a tough man on the outside he has the biggest, purest, sweetest (he’d hate that) heart of any of the Love in Bloom men.     That says a lot because there are a lot of amazing men in this series.    A few of them I have claimed as my own book crush but Hunter is the top dog(he’d love that).

Seaside Embrace starts a little different than the rest of this series as that the characters are already in a hot steamy relationship, well not a relationship that they would admit to, but a bed buddies relationship.     This threw me for a loop.  I had to stop and think about this before continuing reading.     It seemed odd that they had a relationship before the story even started.   But I loved it and was hooked before I finished the first page.

Jana Garner is just as amazing of a character.   I absolutely love how strong she is.   She speaks her mind, holds her own, isn’t afraid to push for what she wants, and just never gives up.    Yet, she has this soft side, this side that is begging for someone to sweep in and take care of her.    Hunter is applying for that job of caretaker, lover, supporter, and #1 man.

Of course, my favorite part of this book is the friendships.    The women of Seaside are amazing.    They love with their whole hearts, protect what and who is theirs, laugh, smile, and are just the best.     They accept new comers to their group without question.      Even now with babies and hubbies thrown into the mix they still have time to chunky-dunk and just be together.

I recommend this entire series.   They are best read in order but each book is a standalone story also.

The Changing Season by Steven Manchester

Hardcover, 288 pages
Published November 17th 2015 by Story Plant, The
ISBN
1611882109 (ISBN13: 9781611882100)

This was supposed to be a simple summer for Billy; one more lazy expanse of time before college began. He'd fill the hours playing with Jimmy – his canine best buddy – going camping and doing all the things he promised Jimmy they'd do before Billy left.

But that was before the accident that shook the entire town.

It was before the summer job that turned into something so much more than a way to get a paycheck.

And it was before Vicki.

This summer was destined to be many things to Billy, things he didn't truly understand until now. But it was definitely not going to be simple.

My Thoughts…

The heart tugging, tear jerking, and emotional story of Billy’s last summer before heading off to college is exactly what I expect from Steven Manchester.

The Changing Season is told by Billy but there are so many other wonderful characters.   One of my favorite is Jimmy.    He is definitely Billy’s best friend.  He keeps him company when Billy is struggling with life decisions, dealing with heart break, or just wants quiet company.     Billy feels that he takes care of Jimmy but I believe that Jimmy actually takes care of Billy.   I should probably mention that Jimmy is Billy’s pet dog.

There is more to this story that about a boy and his dog.   It is a story on how not knowing what you want to do in life after high school is okay.    Your life is not easily planned out and it will come to you when you least expect it.      With Billy’s job at the animal shelter his eyes are opened to all that is available to him and what he truly loves.   I like that he struggled with his life.    Real life is not easy and Steven Manchester portrays this through Billy perfectly.   It is also a story of Billy and his friends.    How important loyalty is and standing by your friends in their times of needs.     There is also young love found for Billy.   His first girlfriend and he puts his whole heart into the relationship.    I found it sweet how he thought of all the “cute” things a boy/man should do for his girlfriend and how he went about doing them.

I am never disappointed by Steven Manchester.     He develops his realistic characters expertly, writes his scenes with as much description as possible, and moves the novel along at a great pace.    There are surprises, heart tugging, and wonderful life lessons to be learned from his books.

Excerpt
I turned the corner and took in the large man towering over Candace’s shiny blond head. Tapping his foot and muttering something about being “late for another meeting,” he shot her a menacing scowl. He clutched the edge of the desk as if he might overturn it and swallow our intern whole like a mini eggroll. Candace bit her lip, her big brown manga eyes wide with bubbling anxiety as she fumbled with some files. I hated a bully. Being an army brat with a new school almost every year, I could spot one a mile away. “Can I help you?” I threw back my shoulders and tried to make myself appear taller. The man puffed his linebacker chest. “Finn O’Connell. I’m with the Trinity Foundation. I have an appointment with Dr. Kevin Forrester.” He had a crisp Irish accent, his consonants cutting through the shafts of afternoon light spilling into the room. “I’m sorry, but Dr. Forrester is out.” Where are you, old man? I stepped forward, pasting a confident smile on my face. “Is there something I could help you with?” Mr. O’Connell stalked over to me, and I fought the urge to step back. Six foot five and no problems with invading personal space, the man from Trinity emitted waves of heat, and his body hummed like a pulsing engine shrouded in gleaming black chrome. My heart raced as I tilted my head up and up to meet a pair of intense gray eyes that made me forget my last name. Gritting my teeth, I steeled myself, crossing my arms. Never show fear: rule number one for managing the bullies in your life. “Dr. Forrester recently acquired a new manuscript—” “The Book of Arranmore!” Finn tilted his head, trying to make sense of the jumble of consonants I had just vomited. “Excuse me?” “Um, yes. The Book of Arranmore. Sorry.” I twisted my mouth into some semblance of a smile, but inside my stomach knotted, thinking of the changing pictures, the shifting text. “It’s a wonderful new addition to our collection.” Finn glanced down the hallway toward the archives. “Would you mind if I take a look?” “Um…” I curled my fingers into my palm. “I think it might be best if we wait for Dr. Forrester. If you would like to come back later—” “No, I would not like to come back later. My time is precious, Miss…?” I raised my eyebrows, bristling at the Miss. “Tanner. Elizabeth Tanner.” “Miss Tanner,” he said. “As a contributing member to this institution, I think I am entitled to a small preview.” Entitled. Only certain kinds of men could throw that word around. Men in Burberry leather trench coats, dry-cleaned, pressed shirts so white they glistened like morning snow. Men with large checkbooks. Men, who, with the flick of a lazy, indecipherable signature could decide the destiny of my academic career. “Of course, Mr. O’Connell,” I said. “We have it in the back here, if you would like to follow me. I was just working on it.” Finn rode my heels, and I hurried to keep some distance between us. Opening the door and crossing the reading room, I darted to my workspace, leaning against the desk to establish my territory. I raised my chin, but inside my stomach fluttered as Finn took in the mountains of scattered notes I had amassed over the past few weeks. A messy desk is the sign of a true genius, right? Judging from the scowl on the Irishman’s face, he didn’t seem to think so. I took a deep breath and was about to open my mouth to wax intellectual on The Book of Arranmore when my hand slipped over the computer mouse. AC/DC screeched across the wood-paneled walls, elaborating on the calamitous effects of American thighs. I let out a squeak, whirling around and fumbling to press pause, my hands shaking violently. The music stopped mid-scream, and then silence. “Interesting taste in music, Miss Tanner.” His words burned hot against the side of my neck, and I gasped. Finn stood a mere inch behind me. He stared down at the computer screen, the blue light flashing on the teasing smile spread across his face. Heat bloomed in my cheeks, and I clicked on the tiny X to close out the program. “Oh, that wasn’t mine!” I brushed my hair out of my eyes. “These dang undergrads. I mean, who listens to AC/DC, right?” Finn’s smile faded, his dark stare replacing the brief lightness in his features. I chewed on my lip, arrested for a moment by the impossible length of his eyelashes. “Is this it?” Finn turned and planted his fists on the table, caging the manuscript with his arms. “Yes.” Closing in on Finn, I breathed in the clean, leather smell emanating from his long coat. Warm and intoxicating, he smelled like a mix of fresh laundry and badass.

I’m Glad About You by Theresa Rebeck

Hardcover, 384 pages

Expected publication: February 23rd 2016 by G.P. Putnam's Sons

Their meeting in a parking lot outside a high school football game was both completely forgettable and utterly life-changing.  Because no matter how you look at it, it is piss-poor luck to meet the love of your life before your life has even started. Fierce and ambitious, Alison is determined to shed her Midwestern roots and emerge an actress. Kyle, all heart and spiritual yearning, believes medicine can heal the world. What could these mismatched souls have to do with each other? Everything and nothing. Even as their fates rocket them forward and apart, neither can fully let go of the past.

When Alison gets her lucky break in New York City, she ends up on the fast track to stardom and a world far more different from Cincinnati than she could have ever imagined. Back home in Ohio, Kyle marries in haste and repents at leisure. Reluctantly embracing life in suburban hell, he becomes a pediatrician. While Kyle’s dreams begin to molder, Alison learns that the spotlight is always circled by shadows. As their lives inevitably intersect, Alison and Kyle must face each other in the revealing light of their decisions. I’m Glad About You is a glittering study of how far the compromises two people make will take them from the lives they were meant to live.

My Thoughts…

I’m Glad About You is an okay book.    I wanted to love it, to be so enthralled I couldn’t put it down, but that didn’t happen.     There should have been that moment where I went awe, yea, I was waiting for this.    I was waiting and waiting and waiting and it just didn’t come.     The characters were decent, the potential for greatness was there.     Theresa Rebeck has a great idea it just didn’t come through the way I wanted it to.

Allison and Kyle were characters that some will like.   I felt like they were living secret lives.   They wanted each other, they circled around each other, and they acted like children to each other.   It was not a good friendship, relationship, or way to live your life.     Both characters regretted choices, as most people do, made in the past and went on to live unfulfilling lives.     I do believe that the characters learned a lot about themselves and had personal growth, but it just wasn’t enough.

The story could have gone a few ways.    I don’t think there was a good ending.    There was no closure for either characters and they both needed it as did I as the reader.

As with any story that I didn’t love, I believe there are people who will rave and love this book.     Everyone is entitled to their opinions and this is mine.   I hope that there are many more opinions given about this book that are more favorable.    Every reader has their own taste and favorites.    Every book has readers that love it and some that don’t.     Please give this book a chance and check it out.   Make your own opinions.

INCREDIBLE EARLY PRAISE FOR I’M GLAD ABOUT YOU:
“Theresa Rebeck’s smart, funny, deeply sympathetic, and astringently observant novel gets everything right—what we say and don’t say, how we see ourselves and how we want to be seen, the dream and the realities of love, the rewards that are offered and thesacrifices required from anyone who wants to lead an interesting and meaningful life: in the theater, in the city, in the world.” — Francine Prose, author of Lovers at the Chameleon Club

“Nobody writes more fiercely and honestly about show business than Theresa Rebeck. Allison, the heroine of this novel, discovers that answered prayers can be as frustrating as unanswered ones. Her journey made me laugh and cry.”— Erica Jong, New York Times-bestselling author of Fear of Flying

“This novel is wise. And funny. And brave. Rebeck skewers her targets with fierce wit and impeccable timing. But her dry-eyed empathy for those who follow brittle dreams is what resonates. Haunted by the ideals they've abandoned, her characters are dogged, often courageous, and thoroughly human.”— Rachel Urquhart, author of The Visionist

“A rare honest story about love, ambition, and compromise. . . . The snappy dialogue and plot you'd expect from a veteran dramatist plus the rich exploration of character that novels are made for.” — Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

“Like Nick Hornby and David Nicholls, Rebeck possesses an effortless prose style that edifies as much as it entertains...Rebeck delivers some hilarious riffs on the venal nature of show business, even as she also imparts some hard truths on the need for compromise in relationships.” — Booklist
